Morvah Schoolhouse is a unique gallery, craft centre and café. Originally a chapel, built in 1744 and visited by Charles Wesley, the building was then used as a Sunday School for the children of Morvah. The building fell into dilapidation but in 1999 was converted into a hub for the local community, arts and events.
Located in the hamlet of Morvah, on the B3306 between St Just and St Ives, the centre is a showcase for artists and makers inspired by the wild and ancient landscapes of West Penwith.
*******
The upstairs gallery, with stunning rural and sea views, hosts an annual programme of exhibitions that reflect contemporary rural life. It is also available as a venue for events and workshops.
While downstairs our craft shop sells a wide range of traditional and contemporary crafts from over 40 designer makers and crafts people.
*******
We also showcase the work of one artist every month, with our 'Artist of the Month' mini exhibition in the craft shop
,,, and another wonderful artist in our 'In the Loo' exhibition!
In our café we serve delicious rustic fare that is either grown or made locally.
*******
The Schoolhouse welcomes all four-legged friends in the café, if customers are happy, but not upstairs in the Gallery.

"A marvelous little café and fabulous gallery tucked away in Morvah"
'For many years the School House Morvah has been one of my favourite places to visit. The café with its homemade soups, fresh bread and lovely cakes is always a joy to visit. There are local crafts on sale, and some charming info about the area to browse in the café. Upstairs you will find the spacious and peaceful gallery filled with the wonderful light of West Penwith - not so far away you will see the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. Then there are the great exhibitions to see, I mustn´t forget those! Always impressive and stylishly displayed. This place is a great find just an easy walk along the lane from Pendeen village. Even though I now live in Reykjavík Iceland I visited in 2017 and 2018!'
